2MW is a hell of a lot of power, that’s going to take some serious hardware, expect to be spending a LOT of money to do this.

The cheapest solution would be to build a lot of mirrors to focus light onto a tower in which you can boil water to produce steam to drive a turbine. The mirrors will be comparatively cheap, the tower will not be.

Alternatively, you could build rows of solar panels, but these will cost more overall. The advantage is that you wouldn’t need to build it all at once, you could build one row at a time and add capacity as and when you get the funds.

For either method, you will need a lot of expensive electronics and god knows what else. Not only will you have to buy all this, you’ll have to pay consultants large sums of money to tell you what exactly it is you need to buy.

You will also need to know a lot about the local weather so you can predict how reliable the power flow will be. You will also need to find a buyer for this power, that in itself might not be an easy task as your costs will inflate the price per kWh to above the price for other methods of energy production, even with the tax credits available for renewable energy.

Also, while 2 MW is a LOT of power, to a utility company, it is a tiny amount of power, they deal in gigawatts. For comparison, a single large wind turbine can deliver up to 3 times your 2 MW target.
