Solar trackers do your job!

It is probably not hard to believe that solar power is best harnessed when using the maximum exposure from the sun. A large part of gaining maximum solar exposure is the use of solar trackers. These devices, either manual or automatic, make sure that your solar collectors are pointing towards the sun.

Why do you need a solar tracker?

A solar tracker follows the sun. The sun, as we know moves around the sky, meaning that a fixed position of solar panels will not take advantage of the maximum exposure. It is all about angles! Point something towards the sun as close to the 90 degree angle as possible and you will be generating close to 100% of your potential capacity.
Solar trackers make your life easier because they do the job of positioning for you. That way you can have the power you need and the time to use it! Just think how it would look if you went to reposition your collectors every 30 minutes.

Are trackers universal?

To be clear, trackers only help certain types of collectors. If you are collecting heat, then usually the collectors are fixated, so you can not use solar trackers.
Another consideration it the type of trackers to use. Single axis trackers are a lot cheaper, but only allow you to follow the sun in one plain. Two axis solar collectors on the other hand, allow you to follow the sun vertically and horizontally.
The two axis solar trackers are highly recommended since they allow for maximum power generation. The do require additional logistics such as the space available, weather conditions, power requirements, the latitude and other major factors.

In conclusion

Indeed, solar power is a great way to become less dependent on power generated from the outside world. It is vital to do so because the power needs are rising and the energy network can become more reliable because of it!
