As time goes on the amount of oil imported by this country  is increasing and  the oil left in the ground is decreasing. Politicians spend trillion dollar stimulus packages on  political payouts to big special interests when what we need, is to put the remainder of this money into alternative energy. Supporting solar panel installation on homes will reduce the importation of oil. Things like wind power and geo-thermal need to be explored as well. Growing numbers of us now own solar panels at home that we did ourselves DIY. With a common reduced of hot water bills by nearly 30%. This is just the beginning of what is possible with diy solar panel installation.

People like him and may others are leading a revolution. A revolution for freedom from increasing energy bills and dependence on foreign unfriendly countries. A green energy independence revolution that cleans the air waters and lessons the pollution in the earth. With solar panels either installed by a contractor or self installed ( DIY ) we are not beholden to the electricity rates set by some monopoly. We are not punished for their mistakes or their Enron like betting errors. I prefer to be on my panels

Recently there are 30% tax credits on on solar panel DIY installation. This is the right direction to start with, however this is only on the books until later 2010. I urge you to take action an write you congressman  to have this extended for at least 10 years. This will help us get past the tipping point.

when enough of us have this  source of money saving green energy source. We will all stand to gain. How so? by lowering the demand, therefore the cost of other sources of energy. If a sizable amount of electricity is generated through solar power then there will be a surpluss electricity from other sources therefore costs will go down.
