Is anyone optimistic about fusion power?
I’ve frequently read that practical fusion power won’t be available until 2040-2045 and the first fusion reacter will be made in 2035.

Fusion power is the ultimate solution but will be many years before we can solve the technical problems for large scale production.
Oil can be made from plant matter- unfortunately this takes land away from food production.
Solar and wind power seem to be the main solution for energy at present if they can be made more efficient.
